The non-surgical removal of tattoos brings relief at last, with minimal discomfort, to those troubled by a tattoo.
Going, going, gone...
Until recently, tattoos were permanent.
Treatments such as skin grafting, surgical excision and dermabrasion, were available for those wanting to erase a tattoo, but scarring resulted.
The Eraserlase method involves the use of a Q-switched ruby laser, which minimises any chance of changes to skin texture. Treatments are generally at four week intervals. It was described in the reputable British Medical Journal, as the treatment of choice for tattoo removal.
The Q-switched ruby laser emits a laser beam with a wavelength specifically absorbed by clusters of coloured pigments which make up the tattoo. The clusters of pigments cannot be removed by the body's immune system, because they are sealed off with protective layers of collagen. The particles of tattoo pigment absorb the laser energy and are literally shattered free. The small particles can then be removed by the cells of the body's immune system. This occurs gradually over a few weeks and the tattoo naturally fades away.
